NetGeneration of Youth was born as a response to conditions of digital divide, thus providing a mechanism to extend technology access and digital empowerment to traditionally underserved and under-resourced youth and families. NGY was launched at the 1999 Congressional Black Caucus Education BrainTrust.
With the financial backing of AOL Time Warner, AT&T Foundation, Verizon Foundation, and support from the Benton Foundation, NGY has provided a curricular framework, technical assistance and unique opportunities for twenty nine youth-serving organizations from twelve states across America.
